Global English School (GES) was established in 1997 to provide quality, affordable, English and Thai education in a Christian environment. GES is one of Thailand’s only true bilingual schools. The staff consists of both native Thai speakers and native English speakers.

Teachers at GES have the great opportunity to make a difference by building relationships with students and families from the platform of education. Full-time teachers are needed in Nonthaburi, Thailand from June 2010 through March 2011.

Mennonite World Conference General Secretary Position

MWC Vision:
Mennonite World Conference (MWC) is called called to be a communion (Koinonia) of Anabaptist-related churches linked to one another in a worldwide community of faith for fellowship, worship, service, and witness.

General Secretary:
The GS, as the chief executive officer, is responsible to oversee MWC activities and facilitate the communication of the MWC vision and mission.  The General Secretary, in carrying out his/her responsibilities, will work with the President in articulating the vision and mission of MWC and serving as the official representatives.

Qualifications:
1. Love for Jesus Christ and the worldwide community of Jesus’ people
2. Active membership and engagement in a local congregation that belongs to a member church (national conference) of a Mennonite World Conference
3. Commitment to Anabaptist theology as expressed in the MWC Statement of Shared Convictions
4. Commitment to the MWC statement of vision and mission
5. Commitment to and vision for the church as God’s chosen instrument for the redemption of the human community
6. Proven leadership experience, administrative capability and capacity to delegate
7. Understanding of and experience with global Mennonite/Brethren in Christ/related churches and church structures
8. Commitment and ability to work with other Christian churches and groups
9. Good command of written and spoken English; knowledge of the other working languages of MWC (Spanish, French) highly desirable
10. University graduate studies education, including some in a Mennonite/Brethren in Christ related institution
11. Strong oral and written communication skills; good listening ability
12. Proven relational skills; ability to lead a small, diverse, and geographically scattered staff
13. Willingness and ability to travel up to one third time

Responsibilities:
1. Lead MWC in being a “global community of faith in the Anabaptist tradition”
2. Lead MWC in “facilitating community between Anabaptist-related churches worldwide”
3. Relate to other Christian world communions and organizations
4. Lead, supervise and nurture staff in carrying out the operations of MWC
5. Lead the funding program for MWC, including both fair-share contributions from members and active fund-raising
6. Facilitate the work of the Executive Committee and the General Council
7. Other assignements as assigned by the Officers/Executive Committee in consultation with the MWC President
