Fans of live theatre will have a wonderful opportunity to see Oliver! The show will run Oct. 13-16. Based on Charles Dickens’ classic tale of the orphan boy who asked for more, Lionel Bart’s musical “Oliver!” will be performed four times during Tabor College’s Homecoming weekend.
Featured in the cast are Eva Noble as Oliver, Maria Loewen as Nancy, and David Vogel as Fagin. Others taking center stage include Aaron Stepanek as Bill Sykes, Anna Glanzer as the Artful Dodger, and Ben Heyen as Mr. Bumble.
Hanna Vogel as Bet, Clarissa Berglund as Widow Corney, Jessica Coldwell in the role of Mrs. Sowerberry, Tim Roesch cast as Mr. Sowerberry, Aaron Brooks playing the part of Mr. Brownlow and other roles make strong contributions to the production.
The cast will be rounded out with the following Tabor students: Andrea Acker, Sydney Coughlin, Cheyenne Derksen, Abigail Epp, Hannah Evans, Natalie Hartzell, Lauren Just, Tricia Kaethler, Cassie Kroeker, Alisa Lynn, Scott Morrow, Silas Pederson, Michael Robinson, Jesse Todd, Kelyn Vix, and Matthew Wiebe.
In addition to Nobel and Glanzer, the following community youth are participating as orphans and pickpockets: Eva Franz, Paul Glanzer, Iris Klein, Dakota Klein, Charlie Major, Grace Major, Cora Maser, Josiah Melton, Chloe Pankratz and Brodie Rathbone.
The show is under the direction of Judy Harder, working with Dr. Brad Vogel as vocal coach and orchestra director.
This heart-warming musical follows a spirited orphan on his journey through the colorful underworld of 19th-century London in search of love and acceptance.
